Claiborne Lake

Claiborne Lake in Monroe County, Alabama, is a primitive Alabama River reservoir. It stretches over 60 miles from the Claiborne Lock and Dam near Monroeville to the Millers Ferry Lock and Dam that impounds the William "Bill" Dannelly Reservoir upstream. Known as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, "Alabama River Lakes," Claiborne Lake is last impoundment downstream on the Alabama River. Beyond the Claiborne Dam, the Alabama River flows to join the Tombigbee River at the Mobile River.

Public use along these lakes includes tennis courts, playing fields, fishing piers, boating, water skiing, hiking, picnic shelters, and camping.

Fishing

Anglers at this lake look for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. Tailwaters at the Millers Ferry Reservoir provide great grounds for striped and spotted bass, crappie, and larger catfish.
