Children's Life Jackets - Florida
In the state of Florida, children under the age of 6, are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket. As long as the life jacket or life vest is a TYPE I, II, or III life jacket or life vest it is acceptable if the boat they are on is under 26 feet long.
The USCG also requires the life vest to be in good working condition and fit the child properly.
It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure their children are protected and wearing life jackets. But your boat insurance company will still expect the USCG and state regulations to be followed.
