Children's Life Jackets - Georgia

In the state of Georgia, children under the age of 10 are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket or life vest, when on a boat.

The life vest should also be in good condition and fit the child properly. The exceptions to this regulation are if the child is in a fully enclosed cabin.

It is ultimately up to the parent to ensure the child wears a life jacket or life vest. But, the USCG and your boat insurance company will expect you to comply with the Georgia boating safety regulations,as well.
