Children's Life Jackets - Iowa
In the state of Iowa, children under the age of 13 are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket or life vest, when on a boat on any waterways in the state.
The life vest should also be in good condition and fit the child properly. The exceptions are if the child is below deck or in a fully enclosed cabin.
The USCG and your boat insurance company will expect you to comply with the state boating safety regulations,as well.
