Children's Life Jackets - Montana
In Montana, children under the age of 12, are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket or life vest at any time they are onboard any watercraft under 26 feet. Sailboard operators who are 15 and under, or if there are two or more persons onboard the sailboard, are required to wear life jackets or life vests at all times.
The life vest or life jacket should be U.S. Coast Guard approved and should always be in good condition and fit the wearer properly.
The USCG and your boat insurance company will expect everyone to comply with the Montana state boating safety regulations.
