PWC Safety Regulations - Indiana
In the state of Indiana, any person operating a personal watercraft must have a valid driver’s license and must have it on board the craft. For those at least 15 who wish to operate a PWC must successfully complete a boating safety course approved by the Department of Natural Resources and have documentation of completion along with a picture ID on board at all times.
No one under the age of 15 can lawfully operate at PWC with greater than 10 horsepower.
It is permitted to tow on a PWC in Indiana if the craft is manufactured to carry three passengers and there is a rider besides the operator to act as lookout.
It is against state regulations to operate a PWC while face backwards and to have more passengers on board than the manufacturer recommends.
The USCG, the state of Indiana and your PWC insurance company will expect you to comply with these regulations.
