PWC Safety Regulations - Louisiana

In the state of Louisiana, operators of a personal watercraft who are born after January 1, 1984, must successfully complete a boating safety course approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA). Proof of completion must be carried on your person while operating the vessel. It is unlawful for anyone under the age of 16 years to operate a PWC at any time.

Chasing, harassing, or disturbing wildlife with your PWC is against the law, and operators should avoid fishermen, vessels that are anchored, or swimmers.

It is also illegal to operate a PWC between sunset and sunrise.

Following the federal guidelines and requirements and the Louisiana State regulations is expected by the USCG and your PWC insurance company.
