PWC Safety Regulations - Massachusetts

Operators of personal watercrafts cannot be less than 16 years of age on Massachusetts waters at any time. Those 16 to 17 years of age can operate a PWC if they have successfully completed a state approved boating education course. Adults 18 and over do not have restrictions.

Personal watercrafts may not be operated on any Massachusets waters which are less than 75 acres in size. They cannot be operated after sunset and before sunrise.

Towing an individual in any manner including skiing is illegal in Massachusetts.

While operating a PWC, keep in mind they are not allowed within 150 feet of public or private swimming beaches or someone skiing .
