Children's Life Jackets - Alabama

The state of Alabama, requires all children the age of 8 or younger wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket or life vest when on any vessel.

The life vest should be in good condition and fit the child properly. The exception to this rule is when the child is in an enclosed cabin.

Parents are responsible for keeping their children protected by wearing life jackets. The USCG and your boat insurance company will expect you to comply with the state boating safety regulations.
