Children's Life Jackets - Missouri
In the state of Missouri, children under the age of 7, are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket or life vest at any time they are onboard any watercraft.
The life vest should be a U.S. Coast Guard approved type I, II, III, or V and should always be in good condition and fit the child properly. The exception to this rule is when the child is in a totally enclosed cabin.
Ultimately it is up to the Parents, who are responsible for keeping their children protected by requiring them to wear life jackets. The USCG and your boat insurance company will expect everyone to comply with the Missouri state boating safety regulations.
