Children's Life Jackets - Ohio

In the state of Ohio, it is regulation that children under the age of 10 are required to wear U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket or life vest when on a vessel under 18 feet in length.

Life vests and life jackets are to be in good condition and fit the child properly at all times.

It is the ultimate responsibility of the parent to make sure children are protected with life jackets or life vests; although the USCG and your boat insurance company will expect you to comply with the state boating safety regulations.
