Children's Life Jackets - Washington D.C.

In Washington D.C., a child 13 and under is required to wear an approved USCG life jacket or life vest while on a boat.

The life vest or life jacket should always be in good condition and fit the child properly. The exception to this regulation is if the child is below deck or in an enclosed cabin.

The USCG and your boat insurance company will expect you to comply with the District of Columbia boating safety regulations.
