PWC Safety Regulations - Illinois
In Illinois, children under 10 cannot operate a personal watercraft. Those at least 10 but under 12 can operate as long as they are accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
Those people who are at least 12 but under 18 years of age can operate a PWC if they have successfully completed a boating safety course approved by the Department of Natural Resources and carries the card which signifies their completion; or if they are accompanied by an adult.
People who are 18 and older do not have restrictions.
Personal watercrafts cannot be operated between sunset and sunrise.
